Finally! It Has Happened to Me...

Well, the day you've all been waiting for has finally arrived. I know every one's been asking and asking "when is he going to walk?", "When is Jack going to start walking, too?" Instead of getting frustrated and upset with everyone bugging me, I took it all in and enjoyed the last month of getting carried around. Jordan and Addison have made fun of me ever since they started walking. They used to joke that they'd have to push me into our first day of school in my stroller. I actually like that idea-- how great would that be?! Anyways- here I am walking across the living room into our dining room. Enjoy!

We're 16 months old!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
We are so excited to be 1 year and 4 months old. We all agreed that sounds older then 16 months, don't you think? This past month so much has changed! We are learning so much each day and we're exploring everything!

Here's what we can do now:

Jack - walk 4-5 steps between furniture
says & wave "bye bye"
says- "mama", "dada","more", "baba"
crawls on his feet (like a bear w/hands on ground & legs straight)
shakes head for "no"

Jordan- walks & runs everywhere
walks backwards, sideways, on tippy toes, in circles
says "up", "mama", "dada", "baba"
climbs onto the couch...and end table
can climb up the slide & slide down alone

Addison-walks & kinda runs
shakes head for "no"
says "yeah, yeah", "mama", "dada", "all done", "mum mum"
says "bye bye" & waves
claps to Patty Cake
will copy most faces you make at her
climbs onto the couch

ALL- climb up & down stairs
understands commands (ie: "sit down", "no", "don't touch")
stacks blocks
drinks from a straw

Molly Brown- Designer Girls Jewellery

Mommy asked to be the guest blogger the rest of the week. We told her that would be great, then we can go on a much needed vacation! Hopefully mommy can live up to our standards...

As you all know, Addison LOVES jewelry and accessories. I seem to lack in this department (as she has already told you-haha) so I started searching online for some nice quality pieces of jewelry I could get her. At this age, she will not be wearing the items a lot (much to her dismay) but I want them to be pieces she can wear still years from now. As I was searching, I came across Molly Brown-Designer Girls Jewellery and I fell in love! She is based out of London and has so many options and choices from girls princess jewelry (which includes "Snow White", "Cinderella", and "Sleeping Beauty" all done very tastefully) to bridesmaids gifts and accessories.

Once I started searching Molly Brown's site, I realized I do need to find a gift for a first communion and sure enough, Molly Brown offers quite a few options for Girls Communion. My favorite is this Mother of Pearl Cross Necklace (below):

After looking over all of Molly Brown's shop online, Addison decided her favorite item was the Jelly Bean Necklace. She thought its the perfect fashion accessory and she would love to be able to bring this British Fashion to the US. Addison has made friends with so many other kids that are multiples, that she's hoping to start the "Jelly Bean Necklace" trend with all of them (since she realizes her brothers have little interest in jewelry trends). I think she's really hoping to get it for a gift sometime soon. I told her we'd just have to wait and see.

For those of you that are nervous about shopping internationally, don't be! Molly Brown is an Accredited Retailer and takes all major credit cards. If you are still concerned about seeing everything listed in Pound Sterling, no worries. I've got a conversion chart that is very easy to use for you just click here. Currently, the conversion is 1 Pound = 1.58 US Dollars.

We're Ready For School

We've told you before that our cousins visit us each morning on their way to school. We never really understood what "school" was though. We just thought it must be the same place daddy goes each day. Ya know-- like "work". Well, for Christmas G'ma Jean & G'pa Dave gave us a Fisher Price schoolhouse. We've always played with it, but just didn't understand what the desk and the playground was all about.

Well, this week mommy showed us what happens in school and all of the fun activities it involves. We got to pretend we were in reading class and mommy read us some books. Then we got to have recess (that's my FAVORITE part of school) and after recess we got to have lunch (which was just like what we do at home with mommy anyways). Jack decided we needed nap time, too. Here's some pictures of us reading and playing "school".

Mommy told us when we get bigger we get to go to school, too. Addison didn't seem too interested in going, until mommy told her she could go "school clothes shopping". When she heard shopping, her eyes lit up. So mommy told her we could pretend to school shop now and look online at what there is. Our cousins go to a private school, so they have uniforms to wear. Addison and mommy looked at clothes and then at shoes. Jack and I had no interest at all at looking at clothes online (Jack said if they had man bags or scarves to let him know though, he loves them both) so we continued to pretend we were at recess.

Anyways- Addison fell in love with a pair of shoes called Poppy that she and mommy found on Start-rite Shoes' site. Check out all of their school shoes and try out their Click'n'Fit Technology. You can figure out your kid's exact size and order online.

Sweet Sugar Beet - Give Away!

We have a guest blogger today. Mommy asked if she could do a give away again. We told her fine as long as we get a cut of the deal. hehehe SO-- here she is:

I found this great shop called Sweet Sugar Beet on Etsy and I just LOVE it! I liked it so much that I contacted the owner-Haley Baur and asked her if she'd do a give away on our blog. She was really happy to do it and even more excited when she read our blog. She has twin boys that are 10 months old and a 2 year old daughter! So reading what The Riplets were up to, hit pretty close to home.

Haley started Sweet Sugar Beet in June 2008 as a hobby, but quickly turned it into a successful business. She has worked with many brides doing custom orders as gifts for their bridesmaids and gifts for bridal showers. I know first hand how wonderful she is at doing custom orders. I actually needed an eye glasses case and she not only made me one using the fabric I chose, but also had it made and shipped out within 48 hours of ordering it! I took this from Sweet Sugar Beets's website:

"All of the items are handmade by me using designer fabrics that are vibrant, fun and have a character that reflects my personality."

My First Hair Cut

I just had my first hair cut on Friday. Auntie Dawn came over for her usual visit with my cousins (on their way to school) and decided to "trim up" my hair. I told her I did not want my hair cut, I was trying to grow it out long. She said she just wanted to shape it for me. She also said a trim on my ends would help my hair to grow faster and thicker. Its so nice getting beauty tips from her. She's a lot more stylish in the hair and accessories department then my mom. Have you seen her curls?! I love them and always want her to shake her hair at me. Sometimes I'll shake mine back. The other day Jack shook his, too! He looked ridiculous.
Here are the the pictures from the hair cut. Enjoy!

Our Favorite Book

I bet those of you that know us personally assume that our favorite book must involve talking vegetables, right? WRONG! (Those are our favorite DVDs hehe) Our favorite book was one that mommy & daddy started reading to us a long time ago. Its called, "So Big!" and its with Elmo. We used to just listen to mommy read it during the day and then one day Addison started making the "So Big" arms when we heard it. Jordan loves read it, especially when we read the "peek-a-boo" part. Now all the Riplets come running (ok I don't run, but I crawl REALLY fast) when we hear anyone start reading it. We all sit and try to turn the pages ourselves (usually before mommy is done reading the page) and we also all fight over who gets to look at it when the story is done. That is why you'll notice the book is ripped and torn apart.

When mommy first read it to me, I was waiting in the doctors office and I got really scared at the last page. Its Elmo and he pops out of the book at me! I started to cry and shake and didn't want mommy to even hold the book after that. Mommy told me it was ok, but I didn't trust that Elmo character. So for a long time I would get really nervous if anyone read it to us and I'd always jump and cry when Elmo popped out at me at the end. Finally- after a few weeks of being scared of it, I decided I was going to face my fears. I would sit looking at the book myself. As soon as I'd get to the page before Elmo popping up, I'd stop and prepare myself...then I'd turn the page and close my eyes. That still didn't help me. So I decided to take him on. One day when mommy was busy in the kitchen, I ripped off one of his arms. The next day I ripped him out of the book completely. Boy, do I love that book now that he is gone!

Riplets Just Wanna Have Fun

Boy, do we know how to have a good time. We just figured out that we can climb things! I had no idea how much fun the couch was, until I figured out how to climb up onto it. Now mommy & daddy don't know what to do because we love to get up and run and jump and grab things off of the end tables. It sure feels good to be "SO BIG"!

Check us out having a blast this week.
