Easter Weekend 2012

We had a really fun Easter weekend, but the week leading up to it was a rough one for us! We all three got sick with a cold and then pink eye. I was disgusted when I first realized that Jordan and Jack had gunk all over their eyes. I assumed it was just because they're boys and gross. Then, when I woke up one morning (after a few days of a fever and runny nose) and couldn't open one of my eyes I realized pink eye can happen to anyone! Because we were all sick, all of our normally scheduled activities were cancelled. This just made for a very long week for us and for poor mommy who was stuck inside with us for hours on end.

Finally- by Friday, we started to feel a little better and we're able to go visit g'ma and g'pa. We were really excited to get out of the house! We only stayed for a few hours because Auntie Brittany called to say she was having her baby so g'ma had to leave for the hospital. We were happy though, because we are really loving babies lately. I acted all cool like I really didn't care about this new little girl entering our lives but really I'm a little excited to finally have a GIRL to hang out.

On Saturday morning around 2:30am, Auntie Brittany had little baby Emily. Mommy showed us a picture and she's really cute. Now, baby--er--I mean Noah is no longer the baby and has a little sister! Take a look at how cute she is...
Sunday, we spent the day at Auntie Dawn and Uncle Mark's house for dinner and an Easter Egg Hunt. We had such a fun time with our family and loved searching for eggs. We also learned to say "He is Risen!" Here's a few pictures of the weekend...enjoy

The Hunt for the Perfect Christmas Tree

Yesterday, mommy and daddy told us we were going to buy our Christmas tree for our living room. I have to say, I was pretty excited (so were my brothers) but I was a little surprised that we'd actually get to put one inside! I kinda thought that was just on the movies. Speaking of...we've been watching A LOT of Christmas movies this past week, so we know all about Christmas and baby Jesus being born on Christmas Day (mommy says thanks, Veggie Tales!). Right now, our absolute favorite one is The Toy That Saved Christmas. We ask for it every, single day and if we're lucky, we get to watch it more then once.

Anyways- back to our tree hunt. We got to pack up and go to a tree farm near our house to pick out exactly which tree we wanted. I was excited, because it seemed like it was a nice day outside. When we first arrived, we even got to see big horses pulling people around in a wagon!

After looking at the horses from a distance (the guy asked if we wanted to pet them and only mommy was crazy enough to do it!), we decided it was time to get down to business and pick out a Christmas tree. Here we are with daddy trying to decide. Jack obviously had a few ideas...

After just a few minutes of listening to Jack tell us his favorites, I wanted to go inside and warm up (it was colder then I thought it would be!). SO- I left my brothers in charge of making the decision.
Jordan got all flustered and couldn't decide so ultimately it was Jack's decision (along with daddy's persuading).

Once I knew the decision was made and daddy paid for it, I came back outside only to be fooled into a "group photo" by mommy. As soon as she pulled the camera out this is what happened- hehe...

After we paid for it, we all jumped into our SUV and waited for them to tie it to the top of it! Jordan laughed and laughed to think a tree was going to ride with us home.

Last night, we just put the tree in the stand and gave it some water. I love helping mommy give it water! This morning, we woke up and put lights and a star on it and then hung up our stockings for Santa to fill for us on Christmas Day! Here's our perfect Christmas tree.

Enjoy!

Our Thanksgiving

We had a fun weekend with our cousins. We spent Thanksgiving Day at our Auntie Dawn and Uncle Mark's house. We arrived just in time for dinner, but of course I didn't like anything they were serving. Lucky for me, mommy brought some PB& J sandwiches for us. I didn't eat a single bite though, how can you eat when so many people are around to talk to and play with?

While we were there, mommy and daddy let us play in our big cousin's room (okay maybe they didn't realize we went in there) and we fed the guinea pig magnets from Isaiah's chore chart! We were having a great time until Isaiah busted us.

Since the weather was so nice out that day, Jack and I headed outside with daddy and "the boys" for our annual Thanksgiving Day football game. This was the first year that we got to participate and let me just say, I don't know what they did before without us.

Meanwhile, Addie was inside with the girls prepping for their Black Friday shopping trip. Poor Addison, she assumed she was shopping with them. Little did she know they were going out without her after she went to bed that night!

Here's a photo of us from Thanksgiving. I know you are wondering why Jack is so sad, aren't you? I was wondering the same thing myself... Enjoy!

Happy Easter!

Once again, the Riplets had a very eventful weekend. We were able to spend our holiday weekend with family- eating, playing, and preparing for Easter. On Saturday, we got to dye eggs (okay, actually just Addison dyed eggs with Isaiah while Jack and I played basketball) and hang out at Auntie Dawn and Uncle Mark's house.
Today, we got up and found a really fun surprise that the Easter Bunny left us. It was a basket for each of us with some new toys and a few books. We had a blast trying out our new things before church, then we headed out in our new outfits memere and pepere got us. After church, we went home to take a nap (mommy said so that we were ready for the big "egg hunt"...this we were so sure about. I mean, how do you hunt eggs?) and off to Auntie Dawn's again for dinner.
Here's some pictures from our weekend. Enjoy!
