Its Apple Pickin' Time!

Yesterday afternoon mommy & daddy took us to an apple orchard. We had never been to one before, so we were excited to see where applesauce comes from! Daddy had told us that we were going to meet G'ma & G'pa, The Traaseths, and The Condolucis when we got there. We love having our family to play with. When we got there, they had a fun surprise for us...a choo choo wagon! It was an "early" birthday present they told us. Boy, did we have a fun time riding around the orchard in it! Addison thought she was the queen and "had" to sit up front. She also did not move a muscle the whole time she rode in it. I think she wanted us all to treat her like royalty. (hahaha)

We got to go see the apple sling shot were Isaiah hit the target and one a lollipop. We also checked out the pumpkins. Mommy wanted us each to pick one out to take home, but Jordan was scared to touch them. So daddy decided we could wait a few weeks and go to a pumpkin patch to get some. I guess we are going to "carve" them? Whatever that means.

Here are a few pictures from the day. Don't you just love our choo choo wagon? We can't wait to use it again!

What is mommy thinking?!

Mommy told us yesterday that we were getting entered into a contest. We had no idea what she was talking about UNTIL she pulled out her camera. That darn thing! So we are assuming it would just mean more paparazzi chasing us again. Ah, the life we live as The Riplets.

The contest is put on by The Gap and Disney Family. We each got entered into it separately and we've already been eyeing up our competition. There are A LOT of really cute kids out there. We really don't expect to win anything but its kinda fun at least trying. If anyone wants to vote for us, here is each of our links to the contest. You can vote once a day up through November 17, 2009. THANK YOU!

11 MONTHS OLD

We are just too busy, too busy...we don't have time to do a post. But- we did want everyone to know that we are 11 months old today, YAY! Only one month to go until our big 1st birthday. We can't wait to celebrate (aka: EAT CAKE)

Here's our "OFFICIAL" 11 month photo:

Here's the one mommy & daddy said seem to fit our personalities better:

Tappers, Climbers, Bad Drivers...OH MY!

I was behind the scenes this week helping mommy catch Jordan & Addison being silly. I love the camera so much that I am starting to think a career in photography is in my future. We all know that Jordan is standing up on his own and sometimes standing "alone" without hanging on to anything. (not really sure why he thinks he needs to do that, its not like mommy or daddy won't come help us get stuff if we need them) Well, Addison has been a little jealous of all of the attention Jordan has been getting. She also hears mommy talk about teaching dance classes and she's told she can take classes in a few years. I think she REALLY wants to the center of attention. I also think she's trying to show off to mommy so she can get into classes earlier then 3 years old! Here she is tapping away in our playroom. Don't miss Jordan at the end. I think he may need a lesson in driving...

If Addison was annoyed at Jordan's standing (by the way -he took 1 step without hanging on to anything yesterday! He stepped right into Vicki's arms) she's going to be REALLY annoyed when she hears this. Jordan has learned how to climb the stairs. I have a feeling Addison will be spending her week planning her next publicity stunt. I wonder if she has a publicist for that?

The Last Kid Standing

I am the last kid standing when it comes to teeth. That's right, my sister Addison got her first tooth last week and now a 2nd tooth is already starting to peek through for her, too! Meanwhile my brother, Jack has two teeth now and his top front tooth is also bulging and wanting to come through. Can you believe it?! They both have teeth and I still have my gummy smile. Don't worry though, I have them in another area. Ya know who I said I'm the "last kid standing" well, really I'm the ONLY kid standing. I mean that I am the only one of us that can stand not hanging on to anything. I do it all the time now. I love to pull myself up to standing on anything that is near me (even doors and walls and sliding glass doors!) and then I love to show off by holding on with only one hand for awhile. Then, I'll forget and let go and just stand there! Here are a few pictures mommy took of me this week just standing around. I look pretty confident, huh?

Also, this week was the start of FOOTBALL! So we got all dressed up in our Patriots gear and daddy in his Broncos shirt and we watched some football. Here's a picture of us with daddy to start the season.

Need a Birthday Gift Idea?

My brothers seem to LOVE the cordless phone. They fight over it each and everyday whenever mommy gets a call. So I thought I'd let everyone know if you need an idea for them for their birthday gift just give them your old cordless phone. Save your money for my gift please! (hehehe) Here's them fighting this weekend:

This weekend Jordan decided he needed to start working on his standing and walking. He saw his little friend, Jax's video from last week of him with his walker and we're pretty sure that is what got him motivated. Here's a video of him trying to use the walker. He's definitely not as good as Jax is. Which only makes me feel better. He can't learn to walk before me! If you are new to our blog, let me just tell you that I am the competitive one. Ask my brothers they'll tell you "Addison gets mad when we do anything she can't do yet!". I told mommy I didn't think our readers cared if they saw Jordan trying to walk but mommy insists you do.

TOOTH WARS!

Here's a picture of me threatening Jack, after I found out about the post he just did. Its was on how he has 2 teeth and we both have zero. I first threatened him by telling him I'd take all of his toys and drink all of his babas when he wasn't looking. Well, luckily for me that same day my first tooth popped through! Not that I won't still keep my word (hehehe) afterall, he still is one tooth ahead of me!

Besides our Tooth Wars, the Riplets' house has been pretty quiet. Our cousins started school this week, so we didn't have any friends to play with. Instead, mommy has been goofing off with us a lot. Here's a picture she tried to take of all of us together, but Jordan kept leaving during it! So really, it looks like Jordan took the picture of us.

This week Jack has had a fever and hasn't been feeling like himself. Mommy & Daddy aren't sure if its more teeth (better not be!) or if he's got a bug of some sort. (I wonder what kinda bug he has and why hasn't he showed us?! We love bugs, we really like to try to eat them.) He's been up in the night a lot and he's been wanting to just sit on mommy's lap all day stealing all of her attention. Now do you see why I threatened him? It wasn't just the teeth. Anyways- here's a few pictures of him in his Superman pjs from last night.

Finally, mommy asked me to put these pictures on here from the Minnesota State Fair this past weekend. She had some extra shots on another camera she forgot to add to our original post. Enjoy!

2-0-0

I know in most games its one team against another, so I wasn't positive on how to announce the score of the teething game at our house. Ya know, since there are three of us involved? Either way...I am in the lead with 2 teeth now while Jordan & Addison still have zip/nada/nothing!

Addison has learned how to climb to standing on everything and anything in her reach. The only problem is, she doesn't know how to get down! Mommy & Daddy both show her over and over again but she doesn't quite get it yet. So instead she pulls to standing and plays for a while and then whines and cries until someone comes to help her back down. Jordan & I see no point to even standing in the first place if that's what's going to happen!

Besides standing and teething, we went to the Minnesota State Fair this weekend to meet up with Auntie Brittany and Uncle James. Yesterday we spent our Labor Day at the park visiting with our friends. Here are some pictures from the weekend.

Our 1st Give-Away!

We are doing our 1st Give-Away and would love for all of our readers to join in on the fun with us! Our mommy partnered up with one of her friends, April of April Accents to do our give-away. So this post will be coming from mommy...

First of all, I wanted to say how happy I am to have April here doing a give-away for her newly opened boutique, April Accents. She is a friend of mine who also has her own blog AND has a son only 1 day older then the Riplets! So, we've been able to spend the past months keeping up with each other and comparing our kids through our blogs.

April's new boutique has some amazing, handmade hats and hair accessories for kids. I have already put in an order for Addison for a hat for her 1 Year pictures and I plan on ordering two more for the boys, once I figure out what colors I want them to be.

SmileyMML

Here are a few questions I asked her about her product line and her new boutique.
1.April, I love your boutique and adore all your products. Tell us a little about yourself:
I am a 25 year old first time mom. My son is 10 months old and I have the priviledge of being a stay at home mom. My mother in law taught me how to crochet a few years back. I started off with a blanket that was quite crooked :) and then decided that a blanket was probably a bit ambitious for a first project. So I stuck with scarves until I my skill was more formed. Over the past few years, I have been enjoying making items and giving them away as gifts. Just recently, I have been encouraged to start selling my handmade products and so after much time and thought - I created April Accents.
2.What inspires you when you come up with a new design or product?
Currently, the products I sell are children's hats. I have always been obsessed with shoes for myself :), but when it came to my son - it was hats! I always put a hat on him when we left the house. Every store we went to - I needed to check if there was something new and creative. Then I thought to myself, why not just make a hat for him?

Each style I have on the site is named after the child that is modeling it. I love bright colors and using them to express personality in fun accessories for children. I just sit back with my yarn and hook and let my imagination and creativity work its magic.

3.I see your son, Jackson got his own hat named after him. Is that his favorite hat and does he keep them on his head? Mine are really good at pulling theirs off the second I put one on their head!
I named by first creation after my son, Jackson. His head has been my model for quite some time now. He is used to wearing hats due to mommy's obsession :).
I have found that if I place a hat with a long or wide brim on him such as a baseball cap, he doesn't tolerate it very well because his vision is obstructed. But with these crochet hats that stay snug on his head - after a few moments he completely forgets it's on his head.
When I put a new crochet hat on him, I make a big deal about how cute he looks in it - so the response I get is a huge goofy toothy grin.

4.Which item is your personal favorite and why?
I adore the Breanna style - the simple stitched cap with an accented flower. I just love to see little girls accessorize just like their mommies. There are so many color combinations to chose from, you can have one for every outfit!

5.I see that you will be eventually adding jewelry to your collection. Could you give the readers just a peak at some jewelry you've either been designing or some that you've made in the past? Just so we can all see what's to come?
Great idea! I frequently host give aways on my personal blog - Desires of the Heart. Here are two examples of the bracelets that I gave away. Items like these, and many more will soon be available for sale.

April Accents will be giving-away the Ella hat (12M-3T) to one lucky person.
Here is what it looks like:

Now to enter the give-away you need to go to April's boutique by either clicking on her button at the top of my blog or click here April Accents. Look through her store and then leave her a comment on which item is your favorite. That will be one entry. You can also FOLLOW my blog and leave me acomment on The Riplets blog saying you just became a "FOLLOWER". If you are already a FOLLOWER you can leave me a comment stating that you are already on my blog and that is your 2nd entry. Finally,a third way to enter is by grabbing an April Accent button and putting it on your blog. Leave April a comment letting her know you did that as well and your blog address. So there are up to three chances to win for each of you! You will have until this Friday at noon(Sept 4th) to enter. The drawing will be Friday afternoon and I will announce the winner here on my blog that evening. So don't forget to come and check back!

Are you still wanting more give-aways? Go to the End of Summer Blog Party at Multiples and More. They are having hourly give-aways all day Thursday and Friday this week. Also- check out Joanne's give-away on her blog, NY Gal in Steerland.
GOOD LUCK!
